Her Path to Re:Down

Ingela has been part of the textile world since 1987. After founding her own agency, Habitex Agenturer AB, she spent decades connecting Scandinavian markets with trusted producers. When Re:Down crossed her path, she immediately recognised the uniqueness of its philosophy:

“I am so proud of the core values and philosophy of Re:Down.”

A Day in Her Role

Her mornings begin with a ritual to prepare both body and mind, be it gym, yoga, or a simple stretch. Once settled, Ingela dives into her “things-to-do” list, balancing calls, emails, and customer visits.
For her, the challenge is reaching people by phone, but also the joy:

“A quick talk explains and solves questions
so much faster than sending emails back and forth.”

She often meets colleagues or friends for lunch, and keeps an eye on Stockholm’s shops and cultural scene to stay inspired. Her favourite moments are when a customer embraces Re:Down and their brand flourishes as a result.

Recycled Materials, Real Purpose

Working with recycled products feels like returning home. Raised on a farm in Småland, Ingela grew up with repair, reuse, and respect for nature woven into daily life: sewing, mending, cultivating, cooking from what the farm provided.

“For me to work with Re:Down and also our last presented product Re:Wool makes so much sense.”

Re:Down vs Re:Wool

She sees the two materials as natural partners. While Re:Down remains the benchmark for warm, lightweight insulation, Re:Wool, sold as wadding on rolls, offers brands without down equipment a warm, natural alternative.

Proud Moments

One standout memory is when Arket (link to ), before launching, shifted from their plans of using recycled polyester to fully adopting Re:Down. They have stayed loyal ever since.
Equally, Ingela takes pride in the Hungarian facility’s 97% recycling rate, where old bedding is transformed into insulation, pellets, and more.

People & Planet

Ingela believes in steady progress: “It is not the giant steps but the small steps that lead us forward.” Her hope is to, one day , complete the full circle by recycling old down garments directly into new products.

Beyond Work

When not connecting with customers, Ingela finds balance with family and friends. At her cottage in Dalarna she grows vegetables and flowers, hikes, skates, and cross-country skis. Walking barefoot in summer is one of her simple pleasures.
