RE:DOWN, 100% RECYCLED DOWN

Down is a natural, high-performance, lightweight material… and often wasted. At Re:Down®, we’ve chosen to give it a second life. We collect down from end-of-life products—jackets, duvets, pillows—to recycle it through a rigorous, certified, and circular process.

The result? High-quality recycled down, performing as well as new down, but with a much smaller environmental footprint.

OUR RECYCLING PROCESS

Our approach is based on giving value to post-consumer down. Each step is designed to preserve the quality of the material while limiting its impact.

Collecting

We collect old bedding products, sleeping bags and down jackets all over Europe and China, thanks to textile waste networks.

Sorting

Textile waste collectors select the down products for us.

Extracting

Down and feathers are removed from the shells.

Down and feather treatment

The raw material is sorted by separating the fine down clusters from the feathers. Next, the down is washed in warm water. Finally, it is dried and sterilized at 135 degrees Celsius for 30 minutes.

Quality control

The quality of the down is checked at every stage of production in our in-house laboratories. We comply with all IDFL standards.

New product

The new products – quilts, comforters, pillows, jackets, …. – are filled with Re:Down® recycled down.
